Tragedy Strikes as Two Workers from West Bengal Killed in School Building Collapse in Anekal, Bengaluru

Construction Accident Claims Two Lives and Injures Seven in Bengaluru

In a tragic incident that took place on Friday morning, two workers from West Bengal lost their lives and seven others sustained injuries after a portion of an under-construction school building collapsed in Anekal, on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The incident occurred during an inspection of the roof’s moulding work at St Ann’s School.

The collapse happened while the workers were conducting an inspection under the moulding framework. The two workers who died were unfortunately standing in the wrong place at the wrong time when the accident occurred, according to the Anekal police. On the other hand, most of the injured workers were on top of the framework and managed to escape with minor injuries. They were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals for medical assistance.

The deceased workers have been identified as Milan Vishwas, aged 43, and Saidu Mondal, aged 40. Both individuals were experienced workers from West Bengal who had come to Bengaluru in search of better job opportunities. Their untimely demise has left their families devastated.

The Anekal police have registered a case of death due to negligence under Section 304 A of the Indian Penal Code. The investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the collapse and to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.

This unfortunate incident serves as a harsh reminder of the importance of ensuring proper safety measures in construction sites. The loss of two lives and the injuries sustained by the workers highlight the need for strict adherence to safety protocols to prevent such accidents from occurring in the future.
