According to previous reports from News Center 7, officers from the Fairborn Police Department were dispatched to the 300 block of Wallace Drive earlier this month after receiving a call about a child experiencing breathing difficulties. The caller, who identified themselves as the child’s parent, stated that the child was alone in the apartment.

Upon entering the apartment, the police found a three-year-old child who was conscious but unresponsive. The child was immediately transported to the hospital by medics for urgent medical attention.

Court documents obtained by News Center 7 reveal distressing details about the living conditions inside the apartment. The police observed a decaying mouse on the living room couch cushion, multiple fly traps covered in dead flies, and bugs crawling on the walls, floors, and beds. The refrigerator and freezer contained dead bugs and moldy food.

Further investigation uncovered a bed with a severely soiled mattress and blanket, which were found to be covered in feces. The child’s room was scattered with empty PediaSure-brand nutrition and protein drinks.

The apartment, described as ‘cluttered and filthy’ in court documents, was deemed unfit for human habitation and subsequently condemned by Fairborn Code Enforcement.

The child’s condition was described in court documents as ‘grossly malnourished,’ with the child’s legs contracted in a fetal position, likely due to malnourishment and extended periods of immobility.

The parent, identified as 25-year-old Rabyah Muballigh, was located and taken into custody. She is currently facing a felony count of endangering children and is being held at the Greene County Jail.

Neighbours expressed shock and sadness, stating that they had never seen the child outside.
