The homeowner managed to escape into his house, but Omondi pursued Jackson. The assailant continued his vicious attack, ultimately beating Jackson to death with the firewood. The homeowner, who witnessed the horrifying incident, stated that he believed Omondi was intent on murdering both of them.

After the fatal assault, Omondi returned to the Airbnb where he was staying and reportedly threatened a woman renting another room. He allegedly attempted to force his way into her room, uttering violent threats. When the police arrived, Omondi was still naked and aggressively non-compliant. After officers deployed a taser, he was arrested.

Omondi, who has a criminal history, now faces charges of murder, aggravated assault of a security officer, and obstruction. He is currently held at the Tarrant County Corrections Center, with a total bond set at $312,000.
