A horrifying incident unfolded in the district of Murshidabad, West Bengal, as an 18-year-old boy was brutally murdered by his friends for simply refusing to share the password of an online game. The victim, identified as Papai Das, was a bright class 10 student who tragically lost his life due to this senseless act of violence.

Papai Das and his friends often gathered at one of the quarters of the Farakka Barrage to indulge in their shared passion for online gaming. However, on the fateful evening of January 8, Papai ventured out and never returned, leaving his worried family to file a missing person report. This led to a thorough investigation into the matter.
A Heartbreaking Discovery
The lifeless body of the young victim was discovered near the Nishindra Ghat of the feeder canal in Farakka on Monday. It was a gruesome sight that no family should ever have to witness. The partially burnt remains of Papai Das were found, indicating the sheer brutality of the crime committed against him.
A Trivial Argument Turns Fatal
Initial investigations have revealed that Papai and his friends engaged in an argument when he refused to share his game password with them. The disagreement quickly escalated, and tragically, the trio resorted to violence, resulting in Papai’s untimely demise. To cover up their heinous act, they used petrol from their bikes to set fire to his body before disposing of it in the Nishindra ghat of the Farakka feeder.

“Based on preliminary investigations, we discovered that the victim had refused to share his password to play the online mobile game with his friends, which resulted in a fight and ultimately led to his murder,” stated a police official.

However, law enforcement swiftly apprehended them by utilizing the tower location of their mobile phones. It was Papai’s mother who tragically had to identify her son’s lifeless body through the tattoos that adorned it.
