However, upon noticing the police presence on Lakhanwada road, the miscreants changed their direction towards Seoni town and halted near Bamhodi to assess the situation. It was at this moment that Head Constable Thakur and his team spotted them.

In a desperate attempt to evade capture, one of the four accused fired his pistol, striking Head Constable Thakur in the chest. Despite his colleagues’ efforts and immediate medical attention, the brave officer could not overcome the severity of his injuries. Seoni Superintendent of Police, Rakesh Kumar Singh, revealed that Head Constable Thakur tragically suffered a heart attack during treatment, which led to his untimely demise.

Efforts to bring the culprits to justice are already underway, with three of the accused, Pradyumn Vaishnav, Gulshan Das Vaishnav, and Janak Singh Khanna, already in custody.
