A brave head constable lost his life in a tragic incident in Seoni district, Madhya Pradesh. Rakesh Thakur, the dedicated officer, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The news of his untimely demise has left the community in shock and mourning.

The incident unfolded when a team of police personnel was on the pursuit of a group of miscreants involved in a theft case. The miscreants, attempting to evade arrest, were fleeing towards Chhindwara in an SUV. However, their escape came to a halt when they noticed the police on Lakhanwada road. In a desperate attempt to shake off their pursuers, they changed their direction towards Seoni town and stopped near Bamhodi to assess the situation.

It was during this critical moment that head constable Thakur, leading the police team, spotted the miscreants. Without hesitation, he approached them, determined to apprehend the culprits and ensure justice. However, one of the accused opened fire with his pistol, tragically hitting Thakur in the chest.

While three of the accused were apprehended on the spot, the gunman managed to escape, leaving behind a trail of devastation. The injured head constable was immediately rushed to a local hospital, where doctors fought hard to save his life. Sadly, Thakur suffered a heart attack during treatment and could not be revived.

Rakesh Thakur, known for his unwavering commitment to the service, will be laid to rest in his ancestral village Dobh with full state honours. His loss is deeply felt by his colleagues, friends, and family, who remember him as a dedicated and brave officer.

The arrested miscreants, Pradyumn Vaishnav, Gulshan Das Vaishnav, and Janak Singh Khanna, are now in custody. However, efforts are still underway to apprehend the fourth man, Saddam, who managed to evade capture. The police have seized a revolver, 20 cartridges, and the SUV used by the criminals, providing crucial evidence in the ongoing investigation.
