29-Year-Old Suspect Arrested for Attempted Murder and Robbery in Beverly Hills Apartment Building

A 29-year-old suspect has been apprehended on charges of attempted murder after robbing a man inside his apartment building in Beverly Hills, California. The incident took place on January 6 around 6:30 p.m. at an apartment complex located in the 200 block of South Hamilton Drive, according to the Beverly Hills Police Department.

The victim entered the building when the suspect, identified as Randy Miller, held the elevator door for him. As the victim turned around, Miller pointed a black semiautomatic handgun at him, demanding his necklace and watch. Shockingly, Miller allegedly pulled the trigger of the gun twice during the robbery, although no shots were fired. He then fled the scene with the victim’s belongings.

After reviewing surveillance footage, detectives observed Miller rifling through packages in the lobby area before the armed robbery. Senior Forensic Specialists from the Beverly Hills Police Department were able to process the package, recovering a fingerprint that confirmed Miller’s identity.

Following the issuance of a warrant, the BHPD’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team, with the assistance of the department’s detectives, served the warrant on January 18, leading to Miller’s arrest.

Authorities confirmed the recovery of evidence related to the January 6 robbery and the retrieval of two stolen vehicles. Additionally, Miller is also wanted for robbery charges in Colorado.

Miller is currently being held at the Beverly Hills Police Department Jail on $100,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 22 to face charges of attempted murder and robbery.
