18-Year-Old Boy Allegedly Murdered by Friends Over Online Game Password Refusal
In a horrifying incident in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district, an 18-year-old boy named Papai Das was allegedly murdered by his four friends after he refused to share the password of an online mobile game, Free Fire. The perpetrators then went on to burn his body and disposed of it in a jungle.

Papai Das, a Class 10 student, had been missing since January 8, and his body was discovered on Monday. The accused in the case have been apprehended by the police.
The five accused, who were reportedly close friends of the victim, used to gather at one of the quarters of the Farakka Barrage to play online games. However, an altercation within the group, stemming from a dispute over the password of the online game, escalated to Papai’s unfortunate death.
The victim’s family lodged a police complaint on January 9 after he failed to return home on the evening of January 8.
According to the police officer, preliminary investigations revealed that Papai had refused to share his password with his friends, which resulted in a fight and ultimately led to his murder. After killing him, the four friends attempted to burn Papai using petrol from their bikes. They then dumped the partially burned body into the Nishindra Ghat of the Farakka feeder and fled to their homes.

The involvement of the accused was identified through the tower location of their mobile phones. The police also mentioned that the victim was so addicted to the online game that he even skipped his pre-board exam this year.
The victim’s mother was able to identify him from the tattoos on his body.
