17-Year-Old Boy Fatally Injured in Southeast Charlotte Crash
A tragic incident unfolded in southeast Charlotte on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old boy. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) reported that the fatal crash occurred on January 17, just before 5 p.m., on the 11200 block of E. W.T. Harris Boulevard.

Upon arriving at the scene, CMPD officers discovered a severely damaged 1999 Ford Escort, along with a 2010 Infinity G37 and a 2012 BMW 335i located a short distance away.
Regrettably, the young driver of the Ford, a senior at North Mecklenburg High School, was pronounced dead at the scene. CMPD has already notified the teenager’s family of their devastating loss.
According to CMPD’s preliminary investigation, the Infinity was traveling on E. W.T. Harris Boulevard when it collided with the BMW. The force of this impact caused the BMW to strike the Ford, which subsequently lost control and crashed into a tree.
As of now, no charges have been filed in connection with this case. CMPD is urging anyone who witnessed the deadly crash or has any information to come forward and contact Detective Leung at 704-432-2169, Ext. 6.
