Tragic Motorcycle Accident in Lapu-Lapu City: Raile Pangatungan and Judy Abella Killed, Sarahfe Carvajal Injured

In a devastating turn of events, two young lives were tragically cut short in the early morning hours of Tuesday, January 16, 2024, in Lapu-Lapu City. Raile Pangatungan, a 20-year-old motorcyclist, and his 22-year-old passenger, Judy Abella, lost their lives when their motorcycle collided with a concrete fence in Barangay Marigondon.

Both Pangatungan and Abella hailed from Sitio Datag in Barangay Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City. They were single individuals with a promising future ahead of them. Their untimely demise has left their families and friends devastated.

The third victim of this tragic accident is Sarahfe Carvajal, an 18-year-old resident of Barangay Marigondon. Carvajal, who is also single, sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital.

According to Police Staff Sergeant Rodolfo Sudaria Jr. of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, the accident occurred at approximately 4 a.m. While traveling along Marbeach Road in Barangay Marigondon, Pangatungan lost control of the motorcycle and veered in a zigzag pattern before crashing into a solid concrete fence.

Emergency services were immediately called, and the three victims were rushed to the Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital. Sadly, Pangatungan and Abella were declared dead on arrival, leaving their families and loved ones devastated by their sudden and tragic loss.

The local community is left mourning the loss of these young lives, emphasizing the importance of road safety and responsible driving. This incident serves as a stark reminder for everyone to exercise caution and adhere to traffic rules to prevent such heartbreaking accidents in the future.
