Three individuals sustained burn injuries after a fire broke out due to a gas heater in a house located in Shera Kot, Lahore. The incident occurred on Monday in Jafria colony on Band Road, where the fire quickly engulfed the entire house. Unfortunately, three people were trapped inside at the time. Nearby residents attempted to control the flames and promptly alerted the rescue teams. Firefighters swiftly arrived at the scene, successfully evacuating the victims and extinguishing the fire. The injured individuals, identified as Irzana Omar (18), Omar Altaf (37), and Zainab Omar (10), were immediately rushed to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment.
In a separate incident within the jurisdiction of Wah Saddar Police Station, one man was fatally shot while another sustained injuries. The first incident involved the targeted killing of an Afghan national named Younas Khan. Two masked assailants shot him in broad daylight on GT road near Wah Garden. The perpetrators managed to flee the crime scene before apprehension. According to the police, the motive behind the murder is believed to be an ongoing dispute related to a marriage issue, as reported by the victim’s family.

In the second incident, a man was shot and wounded when he resisted a robbery attempt in the Hussainabad area, also under the jurisdiction of Wah Saddar Police Station. Ahmed Hussain, who had traveled from Chitral to visit his relatives, was traveling along Jallala road when two individuals on a motorcycle intercepted him. They brandished a firearm and demanded his belongings, but when Hussain resisted, they shot him and fled the scene. Wah Saddar Police have registered two separate cases and initiated further investigation into both incidents.
The tragic events in Shera Kot and Wah Saddar have once again highlighted the need for enhanced security measures and prompt response from law enforcement agencies.
