In a chilling display of the community’s reluctance to cooperate with the authorities, three men on Coffee Street claimed to have seen nothing and knew nothing about the incident. “There’s three things we don’t do. Meanwhile, on Legendre Street, a woman who had just returned home from work found herself within the police cordon. She witnessed the aftermath of the shooting, with Pierre’s vehicle riddled with bullet holes. Just a few steps away, Karamath’s Roti Shop carried on with business as usual, seemingly unfazed by the tragic event.
