Somerset Man Arrested for Drug Possession Following Traffic Stop

In a recent development, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of Shannon Wagner, a 47-year-old man from Bronston, KY, on charges of drug possession. The incident took place on Thursday, December 21, 2023, following a routine traffic stop conducted by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division.

Traffic Stop Leads to Discovery of Drugs

According to Detective Tan Hudson, who was surveilling the Tateville area, a Nissan Altima caught his attention as it was seen driving above the posted speed limit. Detective Hudson promptly conducted a stop of the vehicle on Keno Road, with Detective Trent Massey arriving at the scene to provide assistance.

During the stop, the driver, identified as Shannon Wagner, granted consent for a search of the vehicle. Detectives were astonished to discover a bag containing 15.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 10.6 grams of suspected marijuana.

Charges Filed Against Shannon Wagner

Following the discovery, Shannon Wagner was placed under arrest and charged with multiple offenses, including speeding 15 MPH over the limit, possession of a controlled substance in the first degree (methamphetamine) with his first offense, and possession of marijuana.

Wagner was subsequently lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center, awaiting further legal proceedings.

The case remains under investigation, with Detective Trent Massey of the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division leading the efforts.
