Homeowner in Arnold, Pennsylvania Shoots and Kills Intruder in Home Invasion

In a shocking incident that has left the community of Arnold, Pennsylvania on edge, a homeowner shot and killed one of three men who broke into his home on Friday afternoon. The incident took place at a residence in the 1600 block of Fourth Avenue.

According to the district attorney, the homeowner, identified as Malique Jamal Black, was confronted by the intruders, one of whom was identified as Allen Lamont Austin Jr. In an act of self-defense, Black allegedly shot Austin, causing the three men to flee the scene. Tragically, Austin collapsed and died in the alley behind the home.

The incident has raised concerns among residents, such as Christine Guy, who has lived in Arnold her whole life. Guy expressed her worries about the increase in break-ins and crime in the area. She emphasized the need for the community to come together and find ways to prevent such incidents.

Arnold, a close-knit community, has a neighborhood watch program in place, but residents like Guy believe that more needs to be done to ensure the safety of their neighborhoods. She suggested that providing more activities and opportunities for young people could help steer them away from criminal activities.

In a surprising turn of events, the homeowner, Black, was arrested after the shooting. He now faces charges for receiving stolen property, illegally possessing a firearm, and other drug-related offenses. It is unclear at this time how or if these charges are connected to the shooting.

Black is currently being held without bond at the Westmoreland County Prison and is scheduled to appear in court on January 25.
