Three men have been apprehended by the Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Amreli district police in connection with the brutal murder of a family from Madhya Pradesh. The victims, identified as Mukesh Devrakhiya (18), his wife Bhuri (18), and Mukesh’s sister Janu (8), were found dead inside a well in Lalavadar village.
According to the police, the accused allegedly killed the trio after accusing a woman from the family of being a witch. The fourth accused is currently on the run.

The three arrested suspects, Bablu alias Pyarsinh alias Bholo Vasuniya (22), Mersinh Padariya (35), and Indra Vasuniya (22), are all natives of Alirajpur. Bablu and Padariya worked as sharecroppers in Savarkundla taluka of Amreli, while Indra worked as a sharecropper in Lathi taluka of Amreli. The fourth accused, Bhura Bamaniya, also from Alirajpur, worked as a sharecropper in Jamkandorna taluka of Rajkot district.
According to an official release from the LCB, the four men entered Mukesh’s cottage in the dead of night on January 10, while the family was fast asleep. Bablu strangled Mukesh with a chunari, Bhura strangled Mukesh’s wife with a string, and Indra constricted Janu’s neck. The accused then disposed of the bodies in the well in an attempt to cover up their crime.
The LCB release further revealed that Bhura, one of the accused, had previously worked as a sharecropper in Lalavadar. After his daughter’s death following an illness, Bhura started suspecting that Mukesh’s wife was a witch who had cast a spell of black magic on his daughter.
The arrest of the three suspects brings some closure to this horrifying incident. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities continuing their search for the fourth accused. The motive behind the murders and the exact sequence of events leading up to the tragedy are still being investigated.
