Bicyclist Hospitalized After Being Struck by Minivan in Brevard County
A terrifying accident unfolded in Brevard County on Saturday evening when a bicyclist was hit by a minivan, resulting in the victim being rushed to the hospital as a trauma alert. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 6:14 p.m. at the intersection of North Cocoa Boulevard and Broadway Boulevard in Cocoa.
The crash involved a Toyota Sienna minivan driven by a 43-year-old woman from Land O’ Lakes, who was traveling northbound on North Cocoa Boulevard in the inside lane. Simultaneously, a 60-year-old man from Cocoa, identified as the bicyclist, was traversing the area from east to west. Unfortunately, the man was not using a marked crosswalk and entered the northbound lane directly in the path of the oncoming minivan.

As a result of the collision, the front of the minivan struck the bicyclist with considerable force. Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene and transported the injured man to a local hospital, where he was admitted as a trauma alert. Thankfully, the driver of the minivan and the passenger were unharmed and remained at the crash site to cooperate with authorities.
