Arrest Made in Southwest Side Homicide Case

An 18-year-old man has been arrested by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department in connection with a homicide that took place on the city’s southwest side. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon, sending shockwaves through the local community.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department received a distressed call regarding a disturbance at a residential address in the 2900 block of Landola Lane. Rushing to the scene, they discovered an adult female inside the residence, unresponsive and showing signs of undisclosed trauma. Tragically, medical services were unable to revive her, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The person of interest, identified as Zakii Dawson, was swiftly detained by the officers. It was later revealed that Dawson had a prior association with the victim, further intensifying the investigation.

IMPD detectives wasted no time in launching a thorough investigation into the incident. Preliminary findings indicated that a disturbance had taken place prior to the victim’s death. In the pursuit of justice, detectives conducted in-depth interviews with potential witnesses and gathered crucial evidence.
