A female soldier in the Nigerian Army has come forward on TikTok, accusing senior army officers of oppressing her and threatening her life after she rejected their sexual advances. The soldier, who goes by the handle ogunleyeruthsavage1, named the officers as Col. IB Abdulkareem, Col. GS Ogor, and Brig. Gen. IB Solebo. She claims that the harassment began when she was posted to the Cantonment Medical Centre in Ojo, Lagos in 2022.
According to the soldier, she has faced numerous instances of mistreatment, including being locked up for no reason, ejected from her apartment, and even placed in a psychiatric hospital without any medication for a month. She also revealed that her bank account has been frozen since February 2023, and she has not received any salary without any explanation. She alleges that Col. Abdulkareem attempted to rape her, but when he was discovered, he accused her of having mental illness.

The soldier further stated that Col. Abdulkareem has obstructed her career progression by denying her access to army courses and even blocking her from seeing her parents. When her father reached out to Col. Abdulkareem regarding her issues, he allegedly told him to instruct her to obey the “last order,” which was for him to sleep with her.
Despite her efforts to seek intervention, including writing a petition and seeking assistance from senior and junior officers, the soldier claims that she has received no help. She expressed her fear that something might happen to her and pleaded with viewers to hold Col. Abdulkareem, Col. Ogor, and Brig. Gen. Solebo responsible if anything were to happen to her.
