Casualties Continue to Mount in Gaza Strip and Occupied West Bank
The death toll in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine continues to rise, with at least 23,843 Palestinians killed and 60,317 wounded in the Gaza Strip, according to the Ministry of Health. However, some rights groups believe the number of dead may be even higher, closer to 30,000 when accounting for those presumed dead. Israel has revised its estimated death toll down from 1,400 to 1,147.

In Yemen, the conflict has escalated as the U.S. and the U.K. have carried out strikes in retaliation for attacks by Ansar Allah (the Houthis) on maritime trade in the Red Sea. The Ansar Allah movement has stated that it is applying pressure on the trade route to inflict economic losses on Israel and support the Palestinian people. However, their attacks have not caused any casualties.
U.S. President Joe Biden has condemned Ansar Allah’s actions and labeled them a “terrorist” group. The British and American incursion into Yemen has divided opinion, with some experts warning of a dangerous escalation of violence in the region. Ansar Allah’s military leader has vowed to continue preventing Israeli ships from reaching occupied Palestine, and called for an end to the Israeli aggression against Gaza.
