Authorities in Brockton, Massachusetts have identified the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred at the Hibachi Sushi Supreme Buffet on Crescent Street on Friday night. The man, identified as 22-year-old Joe Araujo, was shot and killed inside the restaurant.
Police received a call about the shooting at approximately 8 p.m. When they arrived at the scene, they found Araujo suffering from gunshot wounds. He was immediately rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital, but sadly succumbed to his injuries.

According to a witness, a woman who was dining with her family, a masked man entered the restaurant and targeted Araujo, firing shots at him while he was seated at a table. Panic ensued as patrons screamed and sought cover under tables before fleeing the establishment. Fortunately, no one else was injured during the incident.
Authorities have stated that preliminary investigations suggest Araujo was the intended target and that this was not a random act of violence. Brockton Police, in conjunction with Massachusetts State Police Detectives from the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office, are currently investigating the incident to determine the motive and apprehend the perpetrator.
