Two Men Charred to Death in Separate Incidents Linked to Electric Heaters: Victim Names Revealed

New Delhi: Two men tragically lost their lives in separate incidents after electric heaters set their quilts on fire while they were sleeping. The first incident occurred early Tuesday morning in Ashok Vihar, where an 85-year-old man was found dead on the ground floor. His family members, who resided on the first floor, noticed smoke coming from his room. Upon opening the door, they discovered that the fire had engulfed the entire room. Firefighters were called to the scene, but unfortunately, the victim succumbed to severe burn injuries. Police found a room heater near a quilt, leading them to suspect that the quilt may have come into contact with the heater.

The deceased man had two sons, one working as a property dealer and the other running a shop. In another incident, a 60-year-old man named Rakesh died in West Kamal Vihar on Thursday. The fire department received a call about a fire on the first floor of his house at 7 am. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and discovered Rakesh’s charred body. Police believe that the quilt in his room caught fire after coming into contact with a room heater. The victim, who was also suffering from tuberculosis, was alerted to the fire by his family members who saw smoke emanating from the room.
