Man Found Guilty of Shooting and Killing Justin Harper in Jackson: T’Quarius Jones Convicted of First-Degree Murder

JACKSON, Miss. – The Hinds County District Attorney’s Office has released the guilty verdict of a man accused of shooting and killing another man in Jackson.

T’Quarius Jones has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Justin Harper. The incident took place on Cameron Street, and officers from the Jackson Police Department were called to the scene following reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Justin Harper’s body on the porch with multiple gunshot wounds. Priscilla Reed, Jones’ mother, was restraining her son in the yard and informed the police that he had shot Harper.

Following a thorough investigation, it was revealed that Jones and the victim were friends and had gotten into an argument over food, resulting in the tragic incident. An assault rifle was also recovered from the scene, and Jones was immediately taken into custody.

After a four-day jury trial, Jones was convicted of first-degree murder. The trial court has sentenced him to life in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
