70-Year-Old Man Dies in Wasp Attack in Thrissur

Thrissur: A 70-year-old man died on Thursday morning following a wasp attack while he was engaged in farm activities at his homestead in Vadakkethara near Pazhayannur. The deceased has been identified as Dappoolthody Krishnan. He was plucking jackfruit leaves with the help of a casual laborer who was also attacked by the swarm of wasps. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Krishnan could not be saved. The laborer, however, escaped with minor injuries.

Wasp attacks can be fatal, especially for individuals who are allergic to their stings. Wasps are known to aggressively defend their nests, and if disturbed, they can swarm and attack in large numbers. It is important to exercise caution when working in areas where wasps are present, and it is recommended to wear protective clothing and use insect repellents.

In recent news, a 16-year-old girl, Roshni Ahirwar, died under mysterious circumstances at her home in Gandhi Nagar. The girl, who was a student of class 10, was reportedly ill and started bleeding from her nose before being rushed to a private hospital where she was declared dead.

Another incident occurred in Kasna slum, where a fire broke out resulting in the death of a 20-year-old man, Munshar Ali. The fire was triggered by a bonfire lit by slum dwellers, and Ali was found unconscious with severe burn injuries. He was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.

In Van Vihar, a 36-year-old bear named Bablu died due to old age. The bear had been rescued from Rajasthan in 2006 and was being taken care of by Wildlife SOS. Despite efforts by wildlife doctors, Bablu’s internal organs had become weak, leading to multiple organ failure.
