Rescue sources revealed that the accident occurred when a car traveling at high speed collided with two individuals riding a motorcycle at the Native Jetty Bridge in Karachi. Both victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

The driver of the car fled from the accident spot, leaving behind a devastating scene. The bodies of the deceased were immediately shifted to the hospital, where they were identified as Sohail and Arslan.

Unfortunately, this is not the first incident of its kind in Karachi. In a separate road accident in October, a passenger bus overturned outside the Governor’s House, injuring at least seven citizens, including two women.

The bus, carrying 30 passengers, including students, overturned due to alleged negligence and reckless driving by the bus driver. Eyewitnesses claimed that the driver was using his mobile phone and was over-speeding, leading to the unfortunate incident.

Road accidents continue to be a major concern in Karachi, with authorities struggling to enforce traffic rules and regulations effectively. Reckless driving, overspeeding, and the use of mobile phones while driving remain significant contributors to such accidents.

The government and law enforcement agencies need to take urgent measures to educate drivers about road safety and enforce stricter penalties for traffic violations. Regular awareness campaigns, improved infrastructure, and increased police presence on the roads can help curb the rising number of road accidents in Karachi.

It is essential for every citizen to prioritize road safety and exercise caution while driving or riding on the roads. By adhering to traffic laws and adopting responsible driving practices, we can collectively work towards making our roads safer for everyone.
