Ahmedabad, Dec 11 (PTI) – In a tragic incident, a woman lost her life while her husband suffered serious injuries when a truck mounted with a road sweeping machine, belonging to the local civic body, ran over them on a footpath in Ahmedabad city, Gujarat. The incident occurred on Monday morning around 5 am in the Vasna locality, where the couple resided.
According to the authorities, at the time of the accident, the woman was cooking food on the footpath. The driver of the truck, which is used by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation for road sweeping, lost control over the wheels, leading to the vehicle running over the couple. The M-division traffic police station official stated that the woman, identified as Premilaben aged 39, tragically lost her life, while her husband sustained severe injuries. The injured man was immediately rushed to Sola civil hospital for treatment, while the woman’s body was sent to a government hospital for post-mortem examination.
