Three Victims Dead in Recent Philadelphia Shootings, Including John Doe: December 8, 2023 Update

PHILADELPHIA PA. (CNBNews)(December 8, 2023) — According to the Philadelphia Police Public Affairs Office, seven individuals were shot between November 30 and December 7, resulting in three fatalities.

On November 30, a shooting incident occurred at 14xx W York on Highway in the 22nd District at 5:27 PM. A 32-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the buttocks and was transported to Temple Hospital in stable condition. No arrests have been made, and no weapon has been recovered thus far.

Tragically, on December 1, a homicide by shooting occurred in the 22nd District at 29XX Ridge Ave. The incident took place at 7:05 PM on the highway, claiming the life of a 31-year-old male who was shot multiple times throughout his body. The victim was pronounced dead at 7:35 PM after being taken to Temple Hospital by the police. The motive behind the shooting remains unknown, and no arrests have been made.

Another devastating incident occurred on December 6 in the 25th District. Inside a corner store at 29XX N Hancock St., a triple shooting and homicide took place at 4:59 PM. A 34-year-old Hispanic male was shot twice in the head and once in the chest, and despite being transported to Temple Hospital, he was pronounced dead at 5:45 PM. Additionally, a 61-year-old Hispanic male was shot once in the head and once in the chest, and he remains in critical condition at Temple Hospital. Furthermore, a Hispanic male, identified as John Doe and in his mid-20s, was shot once in the head and is currently in critical condition. The scene is being held, and no weapons have been recovered, nor have any arrests been made.

On December 6, at 21XX N 22nd St. in the 22nd District, a shooting incident occurred at 6:25 PM. A 30-year-old Black male, known as John Doe, sustained a gunshot wound to the left side of his hip. He was transported to Temple Hospital in critical condition. The scene has been secured, but no weapon has been recovered, and no arrests have been made.

Lastly, on December 7, in the 39th District, a homicide by shooting took place at N 29th St. & W. Clearfield St. on the highway at 8:25 PM. A 22-year-old Black male was shot multiple times throughout his head and body and was pronounced dead at 8:41 PM after being taken to Temple Hospital by the police. A firearm was recovered at the scene, but no arrests have been made.

These incidents depict the alarming rise in gun violence in Philadelphia, raising concerns about public safety and the urgent need for effective measures to address the issue.
