MQM-P Claims Three Dead in Shootout at Karachi Office
Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) reported on Monday that three individuals were killed and one person was injured during a shootout at their office in Karachi’s Machar Colony, as per Express News.

SSP Keamari Arif Aslam Rao, however, contradicted MQM-P’s claims and stated that the incident was a result of a personal dispute over land and had no political connections. He clarified that the altercation between two groups led to the unfortunate event and emphasized that there was no presence of any political party office at the scene. The primary suspect, Nasir Pathan, along with an accomplice, has been apprehended, he added.
Raees was identified as one of the deceased, and all the bodies were transported to a hospital for necessary medico-legal procedures, according to the police.
Disputing the police’s version, the MQM-P spokesperson alleged that the firing incident took place at one of their election offices while a team of national and provincial assembly candidates were visiting. They accused armed individuals associated with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) of being involved in the attack.
Anis Qaimkhani, the senior deputy convener of MQM-P, strongly condemned the assault and attributed it to “terrorists from the PPP” led by their local party’s head.

Qaimkhani further revealed that their party workers, Osman and Malik Fayyaz, were actively participating in the election campaign when the tragic incident occurred.
Taking notice of the incident, IG Sindh Riffat Mukhtar directed the SSP to submit a detailed report on the matter and urged swift action to apprehend the culprits and ensure justice.
