The body of a secretariat employee, Ranjit Paswan, was discovered in his rented accommodation in Patna City on Sunday. The victim, a 30-year-old resident of Begusarai, had injury marks on his head.

The incident took place in Ranipur Colony, under the jurisdiction of Sultanganj Police Station. When the police arrived at the scene, they found the door of Paswan’s room locked from the inside. After breaking the door open, they found Paswan lying dead on the floor. His body was sent for autopsy at Nalanda Medical College and Hospital.

Nagmani Kumar, the in-charge of Sultanganj Police Station, stated that a deep injury mark was found on the right side of Paswan’s head. Initial investigations suggest that Paswan may have accidentally fallen on the floor, resulting in excessive bleeding and his subsequent death. There were no signs of trespassing in the room, and it took considerable effort to break the strong door.

Locals informed the police that Paswan only stayed in his rented accommodation for 5-6 days a month, and very few people in the locality knew him. The police are currently recording statements from his family members and investigating the case from all angles.

In recent news, a 22-year-old man was found dead in a police lockup in Bihar after being arrested for consuming alcohol in the dry state. The incident is currently under investigation. Additionally, the bodies of four family members from Andhra Pradesh were found hanging in a room in Varanasi. A suicide note mentioning a monetary dispute was discovered, and the investigation is ongoing.
