Husband Pays Tribute to Heroic Wife Killed in Texas Shooting Spree, Saving Their Son

Newly filed court documents reveal shocking details about a shooting rampage in Texas that claimed the lives of six people. The suspect, identified as Shane James, is facing capital murder charges. Among the victims was 24-year-old Sabrina Rahman, whose husband, Ishraq Islam, described her as a hero for saving their 18-month-old son.

According to Islam, Rahman witnessed James shoot a handyman who was helping them move into their new home. In an act of bravery, she ran from the assailant while pushing her baby’s stroller. She threw the stroller to the side, saving her son’s life, before being shot by James.

Islam expressed how his family has been devastated by Rahman’s death but vowed to stay strong for their child. He emphasized that they will ensure their son knows how heroic his mother was and how she put her life on the line to protect him.

The shooting spree allegedly started in Bexar County, where James’ parents were found dead. He then drove to Austin, where he continued his rampage. The incident included the shooting of a school resource officer, the killing of Rahman and another victim, and an attack on a cyclist.

James was later confronted by a detective in the backyard of a residence in Austin. He allegedly shot the detective multiple times, stole a car, and led the police on a high-speed chase before crashing. Upon his arrest, a handgun and ammunition were found on him.

Authorities believe that James is responsible for all the incidents and have disclosed previous encounters with him. His family had reported his mental health issues, and he had previously been arrested for assaulting his parents and cutting off his ankle monitoring device.

James served as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army from 2013 to 2015. He had no deployments and left the service with the rank of first lieutenant.
