Deceased Body of 72-Year-Old Miriam Nordlinger Recovered by Tampa Police Marine Patrol

This morning, divers from the Tampa Police Marine Patrol found the body of a deceased adult woman in the waters off Ballast Point. The woman has been identified as Miriam Nordlinger, a 72-year-old resident. The authorities had issued a Purple Alert on Saturday night after she left her home and did not return.

Chief Bercaw expressed the department’s condolences to the Nordlinger family. He stated, “This is not the outcome we had hoped for. We appreciate the concern of the community and media who helped raise awareness during the search. Please keep the family in your thoughts during this difficult time.”

At this early stage of the investigation, there is no evidence of foul play. The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the exact cause of death.
