Body of Missing South Tampa Woman, Miriam Nordlinger, Recovered in Ballast Point Waters

TAMPA, Fla. — The body of a missing 72-year-old woman from South Tampa has been found in the waters off Ballast Point. Miriam Nordlinger, who suffered from depression, had been missing since Friday when she walked away from her home on South Arrawana Avenue. Tampa police confirmed that divers with the marine patrol recovered Nordlinger’s body on Sunday. There are no indications of foul play, and the exact cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw expressed condolences to the Nordlinger family, stating, “This is not the outcome we had hoped for. We appreciate the concern of the community and media who helped bring awareness to the search and ask that you continue to keep the family in your thoughts as well.”
