Teenage Suspect and Co-Conspirator Arrested in Lodi Homicide Case
Lodi police have announced the arrest of a teenage suspect and a 30-year-old man believed to be a co-conspirator in the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy last month. The 15-year-old suspect, from Delhi, has been booked into the Peterson Juvenile Hall, while the Lodi man, Alberto Valentin, is in custody facing charges related to the shooting.

Authorities executed a search warrant at Valentin’s home in Lodi on Sunday but found him absent. However, they received information that he was in Tracy. With the help of the California Highway Patrol, Tracy Police Department, and the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, Valentin was apprehended on Waterloo Road near Highway 99.
During a search of Valentin’s vehicle, deputies discovered a firearm. He now faces charges of homicide, weapons violations, and gang enhancements. The shooting occurred on November 25 on the 600 block of Hale Road, and the victim, later identified as 15-year-old Alan Ruiz, succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
The Lodi Police Department believes the incident was targeted, but the motive behind the shooting remains unknown. Authorities are still searching for another suspect involved in a separate shooting that resulted in the death of an employee at a local business on Friday.
