DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — A tragic car accident in Decatur over the weekend has claimed the life of a 66-year-old woman. The victim has been identified as Cheryl L. Thompson, a resident of Decatur.
According to Michael Day, the Macon County Coroner, Thompson was driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla when the accident occurred. Her car collided head-on with a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee at the intersection of Mound Road and Ashley Court. Decatur Police officials have determined that Thompson’s vehicle crossed the center line, leading to the fatal crash.
