Three individuals, including the primary suspects Rohit Rathore and Nitin Fauji, have been apprehended by the Delhi Police Crime Branch in connection with the murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. The operation was conducted jointly with the Rajasthan Police.
According to the Delhi Police, the detainees were captured in Chandigarh and are currently being transported to Delhi. The murder of Gogamedi, who was fatally shot in Jaipur on December 5th, led to the Rajput community announcing a statewide shutdown in protest. However, the community later decided to cancel the bandh.
The Rajasthan Police have identified the two gunmen responsible for the killing as Rohit Rathore Makrana and Nitin Fauji, both residents of Mahendragarh, Haryana. During the gunfight with law enforcement, a third assailant named Naveen Shekhawat lost his life, while one of Gogamedi’s security personnel sustained injuries.
In response to the audacious murder, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Jaipur, along with two additional police officers, has been suspended. The Rajput community had organized a sit-in protest in Jaipur and called for a statewide shutdown following Gogamedi’s murder.
BJP leader Balmukund Acharya has blamed the previous Congress government in the state and alleged that Ashok Gehlot was responsible for the incident.
The Rajasthan Police had previously identified the two shooters involved in the killing as Rohit Rathore Makrana and Nitin Fauji. The third criminal, Naveen Shekhawat, was killed during the exchange of fire at Gogamedi’s residence.
The murder of Karni Sena Chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi prompted the Rajput community to declare a statewide bandh. However, the bandh was later called off. The investigation into the murder is ongoing, and the police are working to gather more evidence.
This incident has sparked outrage within the Rajput community, who are demanding justice for Gogamedi’s murder. The police will continue their efforts to bring all those involved in the crime to justice.
