Man Arrested for Assaulting Elderly Woman at San Francisco Bus Stop

A man has been apprehended by the San Francisco police on charges of elder abuse and assault after allegedly attacking a 76-year-old woman as she attempted to board a Muni bus in September. Collin White, the identified suspect, is accused of pushing the elderly woman as she was boarding the bus at Mission and 16th streets.

The incident occurred on September 7 when the victim was getting onto the bus. White allegedly forcefully pushed her, causing her to fall backwards and hit her head on the sidewalk. Although she lost consciousness, the woman miraculously survived her injuries.

Police reviewed surveillance footage that clearly showed the suspect intentionally pushing the woman in an unprovoked assault. After exiting the bus, the suspect callously ignored the victim’s screams for help.

Following an extensive investigation, White was identified as the alleged attacker. On Monday, a sergeant from the Police Department’s Mission Station successfully located and apprehended him. White now faces charges of felony assault, elder abuse, and parole violation. He has been booked into jail pending further legal proceedings.

This incident has brought attention to the issue of elder abuse in San Francisco, emphasizing the need for increased vigilance and protection for vulnerable members of society. Local authorities are urging residents to report any suspicious behavior or incidents involving elder abuse to ensure the safety and well-being of the elderly population.
