Three men have been arrested in connection with the murder of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena president Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, according to reports. The suspects were apprehended by a joint team of the Delhi Police and Rajasthan Police after a raid in Sector 22, Chandigarh. However, the Chandigarh police have claimed that they have no information about where the accused were nabbed from.
The shooters have been identified as Rohit Rathore and Nitin Fauji, while the third suspect is named Udham. The arrest comes just hours after the murder of Gogamedi, who was shot dead at his home in Jaipur. One of the gunmen was killed in retaliatory firing.

Despite the arrests, the Chandigarh police have stated that they have not received any information from the Delhi or Rajasthan Police about the case. Gurmukh Singh, DSP (Central), said that they learned about the arrest through media reports and have checked numerous hotels in Sector 22 but found nothing. Inspector Rajeev Kumar, Station House Officer, Sector 17 police station, also confirmed that they have not been informed about the arrests by the state police.
An IPS rank officer, speaking on the condition of anonymity, suggested that the joint team of Rajasthan and Delhi Police could have apprehended the shooters without conducting a raid at the specific location. In such situations, the local police are not obligated to be informed about the arrest. The senior officer added that initial information indicates the assailants were intercepted in a public transport vehicle near ISBT-17, Sector 22, and subsequently arrested.
Sector 22, where the raid took place, is home to approximately 60 small and large hotels and rest houses. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Sector 17 police station.
The investigation into the murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi is ongoing, with authorities working to gather more information about the motive and the circumstances surrounding the crime.
