Hyderabad police have cracked the double murder case of a cattle businessman and his dietician wife, arresting three men, including one of the victim’s investors. The motive behind the murder was a loan of 20 lakh rupees. The victims, Syed Ahmed Qadri (45) and Syeda Meraj Fatima (40), were killed on November 29, and Fatima’s body was discovered the following day by her sister in an outhouse in the cattle shed.
Initially, Fatima’s family suspected that Qadri might have killed her, as the couple had occasional heated arguments. However, the investigation took a different turn when CCTV footage revealed three men at the cattle shed on the day of the murder. Two of them were from Mumbai, Asghar Shaikh (38), a goat businessman, and Mohammed Hussain (30), an auto driver. The third suspect, Mohammed Salman (20), was a welder from Hyderabad. Asghar had invested in Qadri’s business and had also lent him 20 lakh rupees over a four-year period.

After tracking down Asghar in Mumbai, he confessed to the crime, leading to the arrest of the other two suspects. According to the police, Qadri had dinner at home on November 28, and after an argument over the unpaid loan, the three men smothered him in the early hours of the morning and buried his body near a pond in Golconda. The police later exhumed the body, which was identified by Qadri’s family.
The suspects knew that Qadri planned to bring biryani for Fatima the next morning. Using the pretext of delivering the biryani on Qadri’s behalf, they gained entry to the outhouse with Qadri’s key and waited for Fatima to return from work. After she refused to pay up, they killed her and stole her jewelry, which has been recovered by the police.
The arrest of the three suspects has brought some closure to the double murder case. The police have successfully pieced together the events leading to the crime and are now preparing to present the evidence in court. The family of the victims can finally find some solace in knowing that justice has been served.
