“Wayanad tiger attack victim” : Farmer Prajish, 36, Killed in Alleged Tiger Attack in Wayanad

A farmer was tragically killed in what is believed to be a tiger attack in Koodallur near Vakery, Wayanad district, on Saturday. The victim, Prajish, 36, hailing from Marottithadathil near Koodallur, was discovered partially eaten on a fodder farm close to his house that evening.

Relatives of the deceased informed authorities that Prajish had ventured around 500 meters away from his house to gather fodder for his cows at around 11 a.m. When he failed to return for lunch, his mother Sarada alerted neighbors and family members. Together, they conducted a search which ended in the grim discovery of his body on the farm.

Upon preliminary examination of the scene, a senior forest official suspected that Prajish had fallen victim to a tiger attack. However, due to the unavailability of senior Forest Department officials, an agitated crowd prevented the body from being moved.

The incident has sparked concerns among the local community regarding the presence of tigers in the area. Residents are calling for immediate action to be taken by the authorities to address this issue and ensure the safety of the population.
