Eight people have tragically lost their lives after a wall collapsed during a wedding function in the Ghosi area of Uttar Pradesh, India. According to reports, the incident occurred on Friday, claiming the lives of three women and a child. The wall, which had recently been constructed, unexpectedly collapsed on the victims. Local authorities have arrested two individuals who were responsible for its construction.
In response to the devastating incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the families of each deceased person. Additionally, a sum of Rs 50,000 will be provided to all those injured in the mishap. Adityanath has also directed officials to ensure that free medical facilities are provided to all the injured individuals, who are currently receiving treatment at the District Hospital and other healthcare facilities.

District Magistrate Arun Kumar has provided details about the incident, stating that during a pre-wedding function, an adjacent wall collapsed, resulting in the unfortunate loss of lives. The victims have been identified as Poonam Sharma, Meera, Pooja, Chanda Devi, Sushila, Lalti, Anviya, and Madhav. Six women and two children have lost their lives, while 20 others are still undergoing treatment.
The authorities have taken swift action in response to the incident, arresting Gyasuddin and Munnawar Hasan, the individuals responsible for constructing the collapsed wall. Local police are currently investigating the matter.
This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of ensuring proper construction standards and safety measures. Authorities must continue to prioritize the well-being of citizens and take necessary steps to prevent such accidents from occurring in the future.
