Tragic Accident in Greater Noida Claims Three Lives

Three individuals, including a minor, lost their lives in a devastating accident in Greater Noida on Friday. The incident occurred when a truck collided with an electric rickshaw on the Jewar-Khurja road at approximately 5pm. A four-year-old girl also sustained injuries in the crash and is currently receiving treatment, according to officials.

The victims have been identified as Arti (35), her relative Mohini (17), and the e-rickshaw driver Dharmendra (36), confirmed Rudra Pratap Singh, assistant commissioner of police-4.

Reports suggest that Arti and four-year-old Pari were traveling in the e-rickshaw after visiting the Jewar market when the truck struck them. While Arti and Mohini tragically died at the scene, Dharmendra and Pari were rushed to the hospital. Sadly, the driver succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities have seized the truck and detained the driver. An FIR has been registered under Section 304A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC, and legal action is underway.

There have been unconfirmed reports that one of the deceased women was pregnant; however, an autopsy will provide clarity on this matter. Additionally, statements from the victims’ family members are yet to be taken, stated Singh.

In a separate incident, a 15-year-old boy lost his life in an accident on the national highway-9 in Ghaziabad on Thursday morning. The victim, identified as Mohd Issa alias Niral, hailed from Bihar and worked as a truck cleaner. The collision occurred when his elder brother, who was driving the truck, collided with a stationary bus on the NH-9.

Investigations revealed that the bus had stopped due to a burst tire, and the truck crashed into it at 5am, informed ADCP (traffic) Ramanand Kushwaha.

These tragic accidents highlight the urgent need for stricter road safety measures and increased awareness among motorists. Authorities must intensify efforts to prevent such accidents and ensure the safety of all road users.
