“Sukhdev Gogamedi murder: 3 detained in Chandigarh” : Two prime accused in the murder of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi detained in joint operation by Delhi Crime Branch and Chandigarh police

Two main suspects in the murder case of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, along with an associate, were apprehended in Chandigarh during a joint operation by the Delhi Crime Branch and Chandigarh police. The arrest took place over the weekend. The two shooters, identified as Rohit Rathore and Nitin Fauji, were found alongside a third individual named Uddham, whose involvement is still being verified. The authorities are in the process of bringing all three accused individuals to Delhi for further investigation.

The police were able to track down the suspects by tracing their mobile phone locations. It was discovered that after the murder, the accused individuals hid their weapons and fled from Rajasthan to Hisar in Haryana. From there, they traveled to Manali in Himachal Pradesh before eventually returning to Chandigarh, where they were apprehended.

The murder of Gogamedi occurred on November 5 when unidentified assailants entered his house in Jaipur and shot him. Following the incident, gangster Rohit Godara, associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the murder through a social media post.

The police revealed that while evading capture, the shooters maintained contact with Godara’s close aides, Virendra Chahan and Danaram, who allegedly orchestrated the murder.

Earlier in the day, the Jaipur Police announced the arrest of another individual named Ramveer Jat, who was identified as one of the conspirators in the Gogamedi murder case. According to the police, Jat facilitated Fauji’s actions in Jaipur leading up to the killing.

The murder was captured on CCTV, which showed two men firing multiple shots at Gogamedi while another individual stood at the door. Gogamedi succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

The incident sparked widespread protests, with Gogamedi’s supporters taking to the streets. A state-wide bandh was observed on November 26. In response, the Rajasthan Police formed a special investigation team led by Additional Director General (Crime) Dinesh MN to thoroughly investigate the murder, which took place during a period of political transition in the state.
