Two Killed in Crash Involving Police Vehicle in Shropshire
Two people have tragically lost their lives in a collision involving a police vehicle in Shropshire on Saturday morning. The victims have been identified as a man in his 60s who was driving the Skoda Octavia, and a female passenger in her 50s. The incident occurred on the A458 in Morville Heath at around 10 am.

A third person, a woman in her 20s who was also in the car, sustained minor injuries. The driver of the police vehicle was found to have suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for treatment.
West Mercia Police confirmed that the police staff member was operating a crime scene investigation vehicle at the time of the incident and was not responding to an emergency. The force has referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) for further investigation.
Chief Superintendent Gareth Morris of West Mercia Police expressed sympathy for the victims and their families, as well as the injured police officer. He urged the public to respect their privacy during this difficult time. Morris also reassured the public that the incident is being thoroughly reviewed by the IOPC.
