A man has been arrested in Red Bluff, California, after allegedly shooting another man in a dispute over a missing motorcycle. The incident took place on Saturday in the 1400 block of Fourth Street. According to the Red Bluff Police Department (RBPD), the suspect, identified as Thomas Portfield, 59, threw away his gun and surrendered when officers arrived at the scene.
The victim was discovered in a nearby residence with an upper body gunshot wound. Both the suspect and the victim were transported to the hospital, and the victim’s condition is currently unknown, according to RBPD.
