“Minneapolis store clerk incident” : Former Professional Dancer Robert Skafte Fatally Impaled with Golf Club in Minneapolis Store Attack

A 66-year-old worker at a shop in Minneapolis, Minnesota was tragically killed when a customer attacked him with a golf club, authorities have revealed. The horrifying incident occurred on Friday afternoon, and police were called to the scene just before 1 p.m. When the officers arrived, they found the victim behind the counter with a golf club impaled through his body. The man, who had been brutally assaulted by the customer, was rushed to a nearby hospital but was sadly pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as Robert Skafte, a former professional dancer who was known for his dedication to the Oak Grove Grocery in the Loring Park neighborhood of Minneapolis. Tributes have been shared online, highlighting his commitment to the store and the local community. Witnesses informed the police that the suspect had entered an apartment building across the street. After approximately six hours, the 44-year-old male suspect barricaded himself inside an apartment. Following extensive negotiations, he was eventually arrested and charged with murder.

According to Jana Metge, the leader of nonprofit organization Citizens for a Loring Park Community, Skafte was a longtime resident of Loring Park and actively served the community as a devoted volunteer. Metge described him as a “shining light in the neighborhood.” Skafte was also well-known in the dance community as a professional dancer who performed with the Ballet of the Dolls, a dance theater company founded by Myron Johnson in 1986. The Minneapolis-based company gained recognition for its original and reimagined productions of classical works like “Giselle” and “The Nutcracker.” Before joining Ballet of the Dolls, Skafte trained and danced with the Westside Ballet in Santa Monica, California, before moving on to the Kansas City Ballet.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. The tragic death of Robert Skafte has left the community in shock and mourning the loss of a beloved individual.
