MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) – Residents of the Lowry Hill neighborhood in Minneapolis were surprised to see a rare sight in their midst – a cougar prowling through their streets. Home security cameras captured footage of the big cat hopping fences and walking across driveways in the early hours of Monday morning. While cougar sightings in the city are extremely rare, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources confirmed that transient cougars occasionally travel through the state.
