The victim, Yin Min Jiang, aged 46 and a resident of McAllen, was shot and killed by the suspect, Zeng Wang Huang, aged 58.

The incident occurred around 12:42 p.m. when authorities received multiple reports of gunshots in the 7000 block of North 10th St. The altercation started as a verbal argument between Huang and Jiang inside the restaurant. Huang then pulled out a gun and shot Jiang, leading to her immediate death.
