“Malerkotla police scam” : Accused Gurlal Singh Golu Arrested in Fake Recruitment Racket Targeting Punjab Police Aspirants

Ludhiana: The prime accused in an alleged fake recruitment racket that targeted aspiring Punjab police candidates has been arrested by the Malerkotla Police. Gurlal Singh Golu, hailing from Panjoli Kalan village in Fatehgarh Sahib, was apprehended on Saturday following complaints filed by two victims. The arrest came after an extensive investigation, with the accused using political connections and making false promises of recruitment to collect over Rs 9 lakhs from unsuspecting candidates.

The Malerkotla Police’s Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) conducted a thorough forensic analysis of financial statements, which revealed irregular cash withdrawals that supported the allegations of fraud. The accused had managed to evade arrest by frequently changing locations, but was eventually caught in village Panjoli, Fatehgarh Sahib, where he was working under a false identity.
