Two women have been fatally shot in Killeen, with the victims identified as Deanne McGruder, 75, and Tina McGruder, 53, according to police. The shooting took place at a home in south Killeen and both women were pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred following a call about a domestic disturbance at around 1:34 p.m. Officers arrived at the scene and encountered a male leaving the building while screams could be heard from inside. The officers detained the man and discovered the two females inside the building, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Immediate life-saving measures were performed by the officers until paramedics arrived, as reported by Killeen Police Department spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez.
The suspect is currently in custody, awaiting formal charges from the Bell County District Attorney’s Office, according to officials. The Killeen police are treating this incident as the 10th murder case of the year and are actively investigating the deaths.
