“Jackson murder investigation” : 16-year-old Lizbeth Medina’s Death: Edna Police Department Seeks Person of Interest

The Edna Police Department is appealing for information about a man they believe may be connected to the death of 16-year-old Lizbeth Medina. Authorities have released photographs of the man and his vehicle in the hope that members of the public can provide vital information to assist with their investigation.

The man is described as having dark hair, facial hair, and was seen wearing a black Volcom brand hooded sweatshirt. He may also have a tattoo located behind his right ear, according to the police. The man was seen driving a Silver Ford Taurus, with a year model ranging from 2010 to 2018.

Lizbeth Medina, a student at Edna High School, was found dead in her apartment at the Cottonwood Apartments in Edna by her mother on Tuesday evening. The police have contacted the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Ranger Division to assist with the investigation, as they suspect it may be a capital murder case.

Authorities are urging anyone who recognizes the man in the photographs or has any information about him to contact the Edna Police Department or Crime Stoppers. Police have also announced that a cash reward may be given to anyone whose information leads to an arrest.

In memory of Lizbeth Medina, a vigil will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday at the Jackson County Courthouse in Edna. This gathering will provide an opportunity for the community to come together and support the family during this difficult time.
