Instagram influencer suicide 2023″ : “28-Year-Old Influencer Ajmal Shereef Commits Suicide After Posting Self-Obituary on Instagram

Kochi: A 28-year-old man from Aluva in Ernakulam district, Kerala, tragically died by suicide after posting his own obituary on Instagram. Ajmal Shereef was found hanging in his house on Friday evening, with his family revealing that he had been feeling depressed due to his inability to secure a good job. Ajmal’s Instagram page had a following of over 14,000 people.

Following the incident, a postmortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the relatives. The police stated that Ajmal had shared a photo of himself on Instagram along with a caption that read, “RIP Ajmal Shereef 1995-2023,” before taking his own life.

In another unrelated incident, the bodies of four family members from Andhra Pradesh were discovered hanging from the ceiling of a room in a Dharamshala in Varanasi. The deceased were identified as Konda Babu (50), his wife Lavanya (45), and their sons Rajesh (25) and Jairam (23) from East Godavari district. The incident came to light when the group of pilgrims staying in the room couldn’t open the door, prompting the Dharamshala staff to investigate.

Commissioner of Police Ashok Mutha Jain, along with other officials and forensic experts, arrived at the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. A suicide note written in Telugu was found, explaining that financial issues in their district forced the family to leave their home two months ago. Over time, their funds ran out, and they ultimately decided to end their lives.

Commissioner Jain stated that it appeared to be a suicide pact and that a more detailed investigation, including translating the entire suicide note, would shed further light on the situation. The bodies have been sent for a post-mortem examination.

These tragic incidents serve as a reminder of the importance of mental health support and awareness. It is crucial to address and provide assistance to individuals facing depression and financial difficulties to prevent such heartbreaking outcomes.
